My experience with the Paragard IUD: 2.5 years. DISCUSSION. When I got this IUD, I couldn't find many negative reviews that seemed credible; most people were just complaining about the pain and bleeding during the first 3 months. I hope this can provide a little more clarity to those looking for a more detailed experience.
I've read stories from other people who have Paragard who know something's off that have been countered by people commenting that there is no science to back up their experiences with mental/emotional side effects and that the lack of hormones should prevent these symptoms.
I have had my Paragard for 4 years, and I plan on enjoying it's company until I need to have a new one re-inserted. What is great about the Paragard is that it works with your body without the use of hormones. For me, it was a godsend because I have lupus - and hormones can mess with lupus activity.

Anyone on Paragard IUD? If so, what has your experience been? I've heard the insertion is painful, and that periods become heavier. I don't really have a choice though, since I am ER/PR+. Not a lot of options.
