Phosphor Bronze Alloy PB1 is a continuously cast copper-based alloy containing 10-12% tin. This alloy combines high mechanical strength with good ductility, corrosion resistance and wear resistance.
C51000 Phosphor Bronze is a Morgan standard alloy and finds use in electrical applications, as well as fasteners and industrial applications. Uses include various electrical connectors, fasteners, cotter pins and lock washers, sleeve bushings, welding rod, springs, perforated sheets and clutch disks.
Compared to PB1, PB2 phosphor bronze alloy has slightly increased tin content, giving excellent wear resistance. It offers high strength and good machining characteristics, with good corrosion resistance – especially in the environment of salt water and brine.
With increased tin content when compared to PB1, PB2 phosphor bronze alloy benefits from excellent wear resistance. The product offers high strength and good machining characteristics. Good corrosion resistance is also a feature, particularly in saltwater and brine environments.
