8 Οκτ 2021 · To diagnose tapeworms in cats, first check for adult tapeworms in your cat's favorite spots as well as in its stool or stuck to the fur under its tail. These tapeworms will most likely look like a chain of hard, yellow rice and be about 2 to 6 millimeters in length.
Several types of tapeworms are known to infect pets, but the most common species observed in cats is Dipylidium caninum. The tapeworm uses its hook-like mouthparts for anchoring to the wall of the small intestine. Eventually, adult tapeworms reach lengths of up to 11” (30 cm).
