26 Ιουλ 2024 · Yesterday, NASA announced that a rock spotted on Mars by its Perseverance rover contained some of the best signs yet that ancient microbial life may have once existed on the Red Planet.
Mars is one of the most explored bodies in our solar system, and it's the only planet where we've sent rovers to roam the alien landscape. NASA missions have found lots of evidence that Mars was much wetter and warmer, with a thicker atmosphere, billions of years ago.
The possibility of life on Mars is a subject of interest in astrobiology due to the planet 's proximity and similarities to Earth. To date, no conclusive evidence of past or present life has been found on Mars.
20 Ιουλ 2021 · NASA’s Mars 2020 Perseverance rover has begun its search for signs of ancient life on the Red Planet. Flexing its 7-foot (2-meter) mechanical arm, the rover is testing the sensitive detectors it carries, capturing their first science readings.
30 Ιουλ 2020 · NASA's Mars Perseverance rover is building a unique rock collection, which also includes samples of Mars atmosphere and loose surface material. These samples record the history of the Jezero Crater landing site, and may even preserve signs of ancient life.
