As school-based occupational therapy practitioners, one of our most important responsibilities is to develop Present Levels of Performance (PLOPs) for each student we work with.
How does PLOP function? Present levels of performance functions as the foundation upon which the IEP committee identifies the specific goals and services needed for each individual student. The student's unique needs, strengths, as well as the student's current level of functioning are included.
I call it Present Levels or PLOP, for Present Levels of Performance.
