One exercise she used was the prone kneeling leg extension. This exercise targets your back and abdominal muscles as well as your gluteus maximus -- the large muscle in your buttocks -- and your hamstrings -- the muscles that run down the backs of your thighs.
The muscles shorten in concentric contraction as you lift the leg, and lengthen out in eccentric contraction as you control the reverse movement. The exercise trains co-ordination between the vastus medialis obliquus muscle, the other knee extensors (front-thigh muscles), the hip extensors (gluteals and hamstrings) and the calf muscles.
prone leg extension is a calisthenics and pilates exercise that primarily targets the glutes and to a lesser degree also targets the hamstrings and lower back.
