East Side Recycling Center, 2401 Scott Blvd. SE, is a place where the community can learn about the environment, recycle, and reuse, with the help of our partner organizations located on site. Recycling programs are available to residents and businesses within Johnson County, Kalona, and Riverside.
Iowa City Landfill and Recycling Center (3900 Hebl Avenue SW, Iowa City), available during open hours only from Monday to Saturday, 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Motor oil filters can also be recycled at both locations.
1 Ιουλ 2024 · The Iowa City Landfill and Recycling Center (3900 Hebl Avenue SW, Iowa City) serves Johnson County, Kalona and Riverside, and is used by both residential and commercial haulers. The landfill cannot accept materials from outside of this service area.
The Area Recyclers facility receives and processes approximately 3,000 tons of recyclable materials each year. This includes materials collected curbside and at the public drop-offs located throughout Des Moines County.
Curb It! is the residential recycling program in most Central Iowa communities. Each residence is equipped with a green Curb It! cart to set at the curb bi-weekly on the same day as garbage collection.
