31 Ιουλ 2023 · You should not use ribavirin if you have autoimmune hepatitis, moderate to severe kidney disease, a hemoglobin blood cell disorder, or if you take didanosine. Ribavirin can harm an unborn baby if the mother or the father is using ribavirin. Do not use if you are pregnant, or if you are a man whose sex partner is pregnant.

11 Φεβ 2024 · WARNING: RISK OF SERIOUS DISORDERS AND RIBAVIRIN-ASSOCIATED EFFECTS. Ribavirin monotherapy is not effective for the treatment of chronic hepatitis C virus infection and should not be used alone for this indication. The primary clinical toxicity of ribavirin is hemolytic anemia.
Contraindications. Women who are or may become pregnant; Men whose female partners are pregnant; Known hypersensitivity reactions to ribavirin (e.g., Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, erythema multiforme) Autoimmune hepatitis; Hemoglobinopathies (e.g., thalassemia major, sickle-cell anemia) CrCl less than 50 mL/min
Ribavirin will not treat hepatitis C (a virus that infects the liver and may cause severe liver damage or liver cancer) unless it is taken with another medication. Your doctor will prescribe another medication to take with ribavirin if you have hepatitis C. Take both medications exactly as directed.
