The Rocky Hill - Glastonbury Ferry is the oldest continuously operational ferry in the United States. The original ferry dates back to 1655, crossing the Connecticut River between Rocky Hill and Glastonbury.
The Rocky Hill site has a public boat launch and is busier, while the Glastonbury side has just a small parking lot and picnic tables. Rocky Hill side has a small dining option, Mitchell's, which is frequented by locals and boaters who launch or just stop in while out on the river.
It runs from April 1 to November 30 and is the nations oldest continuously running ferry. Many people take this short trip between Rocky Hill and Glastonbury. The cost for walk-ons or bicyclists is $2 and for vehicles $4 weekdays, $5 weekends. For boaters there's a large state run launch site.
