Geometric shapes like equilateral triangles, squares, pentagons, hexagons, or any other regular polygon posses rotational symmetry.
Rotational symmetry involves rotating a shape around a center point to see if it looks the same; reflectional symmetry (or mirror symmetry) involves flipping the shape over a line (the line of symmetry) to see if it looks the same.
Rotational symmetry, also known as radial symmetry in geometry, is the property a shape has when it looks the same after some rotation by a partial turn. An object's degree of rotational symmetry is the number of distinct orientations in which it looks exactly the same for each rotation.
