The official trading worlds are World 301 (for free players) and World 302 (for members). Those looking to trade directly with other players should be wary of a great number of scams that involve player-to-player trading.
During the removal of free trade, the trading limit for free players meant a restriction of up to 10,000 coins every 15 minutes; for members, the limit increased with quest points up to a maximum of 60,000 coins every 15 minutes.

New free-to-play accounts have trade restrictions in place until the account's logged in time surpasses 20 hours of game time, 10 or more quest points are acquired, and reaching 100 total level. Such restrictions include a block from selling certain items on the Grand Exchange .
There are also official trading worlds: 3 (free-to-play) and 1 and 2 (members). For free-to-play players there is a 25,000 trade limit per hour. Becoming a member will remove this limit permanently; if the player returns to free-to-play, they will not have the limit again.

Traders do not need to advertise, meet each other, or even wait at the Grand Exchange for their trades to complete. Members have eight Grand Exchange slots in which they may trade items, however free players are limited to three.
