4 Φεβ 2014 · The Standardized Assessment of Concussion (SAC) (see Figure C-1) provides immediate sideline mental status assessment of athletes who may have incurred a concussion (Barr and McCrea, 2001; McCrea et al., 1998, 2000). The test contains questions designed to assess athletes' orientation, immediate memory, concentration, and delayed memory.
The Standardized Assessment of Concussion (SAC) was initially published in 1997 in Neurology. The survey was designed to be a systematic sideline tool for the immediate assessment of concussion in athletes. The time required for administration ranges from 5 to 10 minutes.
The most commonly used assessments for evaluating individuals with concussions are the Post-Concussion Symptom Scale (PCSS), Standard Assessment of Concussion (SAC), Standard Concussion Assessment Tool (SCAT3), and the Immediate Post-Concussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing (ImPACT) [6].
