Samuel Adams, (born Sept. 27, 1722, Boston, Mass.—died Oct. 2, 1803, Boston, Mass., U.S.), American Revolutionary leader. A cousin of John Adams, he graduated from Harvard College in 1740 and briefly practiced law.
