23 Φεβ 2013 · I accuracy and ladder test at 300 yds, my best group with a Shilen was .202 from a .270 at 300 yds. There are probably a lot of target rifles that would consider this good accuracy. The last rifle that I built with a Shilen was a 7SAUM that shot a .253 group at 300 yds. Both were chrome moly barrels.

24 Νοε 2013 · I used Shilen tubes when it meant something to say you had a Shilen barrel. Never had any complaints and have had them rebarrel a couple rifles in 6.5x55 a and .222. The Swede shoots about .5moa and it's a Mauser action with full-lgth bedding.
I have a Shilen Select Match on my Rem 700 25-06. With hand loads it's a 1/2 moa rifle. However, it was not my first choice and my smith contacted a friend of his at Shilen to have the barrel made for me. I have seen several rifles with Shilen barrels that didn't group worth a crap.
21 Δεκ 2019 · Shilen gets talked about and has some fans for sure but I figure its kind of a roll of the dice anyways. Does Criterion seem to make a comparable quality barrel, or should I just go with whats a known brand to me?

12 Ιαν 2022 · Shillen is about the best button rifled barrel out there. I have them on most of my Savage actions and a Bighorn. They shoot as well as some of the big name cut rifled barrels. For rebarreling a Savage or a Bighorn with a Shillen Barrel check out Northland Shooter Supply they have great prices.
