16 Σεπ 2024 · We will be reading submissions from September 16, 2024 through September 20, 2024. We ask that you submit only once during the reading period. Unfortunately we will not be able to consider subsequent submissions from writers to whose initial submissions we have already responded.
Subtropics was founded in 2006, and is the official literary magazine of the University of Florida. The predecessor to Subtropics was The Florida Quarterly, and this publication was stopped many years ago.
Subtropics seeks to publish the best literary fiction, essays, and poetry being written today, both by established and emerging authors. We will consider works of fiction of any length, from short shorts to novellas, as well as self-contained novel excerpts.
Since its inception in 2006, Subtropics has sought to publish exceptional poems, stories, novel excerpts, memoirs, criticism, and personal essays by both established and emerging writers.
