On May 13, 2017, the Texas State Aquarium opened Caribbean Journey, an expansion that doubled its size and added new exhibits, including a 400,000-gallon shark exhibit, a jungle aviary, and a 4D theater.
The Caribbean Journey wing represents a significant expansion of Texas State Aquarium, with the addition of a new multi-story facility that includes a coastal forest, fresh and brackish water terrestrial communities on the upper level, and coastal and open water marine communities on the lower level.
The Texas State Aquarium proudly welcomed Milla from the ABQ BioPark in New Mexico, in late March 2021 as part of the Ocelot Species Survival Plan. View Exhibit
