Following her suicide, middle-aged Justine finds herself at the threshold to hell. In order to fully earn her forthcoming destiny, she pleads with guardian Abaca to grant her a reprieve. He agrees and sends Justine on her journey through a missed lifetime of sensual pleasures.
Miss Jones, a lonely, depressed spinster, commits suicide. Although she's led an exemplary life, suicide damns her. When she learns this at a way-station en route to Hell, she wishes she'd lived a more sinful life; she asks to return to earth briefly to pursue one of the seven deadly sins, lust.
Justine Jones does not qualify for entrance to Heaven because she has taken her own life. Angry that this one indiscretion has left her with only the options of limbo or Hell, she begs to “earn” her place in Hell by being allowed to return to earth and become the embodiment of lust.
