A Tour Guide's Guide to San Francisco. Written by the Guild’s own Jason Cohen and published by The Trip School, this guide was written specifically for tour guides, and includes logistical information such as routes that work for motor coaches as well as history and descriptions of attractions.
Are you wanting to take it slow, and work in your local area? Become a TOUR GUIDE and lead local city sightseeing tours, food and wine tours, adventure tours or even work with an event companies!
Many people begin their tour guide careers by attending training programs, in person and/or online, offered by companies such as: The International Tour Management Institute (based in the San Francisco area) The International Guide Academy (based in Denver) The Trip School (based in New York)
Successful first tour within three months after the end of the training. Attend six or more City Guides tours, during the training program. BENEFITS. Enjoy extensive reading lists and mentoring. The San Francisco Tour Guide Guild is a non-profit organization of professional tour guides and other members of the travel and hospitality industry who live or work in the San Francisco Bay Area.
