Punjab Trusts Act, 2020 was enacted to revise and modify the law related to trust. The Trusts Act, 1882 (II of 1882) (“Repealed Act”) is repealed.
–The Punjab Trusts Bill 2020, having been passed by the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab on September 02, 2020, and assented to by the-Governor of the Punjab on September 08, 2020, is hereby published as an Act of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab.
Amend the Trust Act, 2020 enabling legal person to create a trust, to be a beneficiary of a trust: to provide mechanism for registration of special trusts. The Act will also empower the Government to delegate powers and functions under the Trust Act, 2020 (XXV of 2020) to a regulator as it may deem fit with respect to special trusts.
