In 1997, Mills and his accomplice, Tyler Bingham, reportedly ordered their members to carry out a race war against a rival prison gang, the D.C. Blacks.
In 2006, Mills and Tyler “The Hulk” Bingham were convicted in U.S. District Court in Santa Ana, California, of murder and racketeering. During the five-month trial, jurors were told Mills ordered dozens of bloody attacks while he was in custody in maximum-security cellblocks, the Los Angeles Times reported.
Sentencing occurred in March 2006 for three of the most powerful leaders of the gang, including Barry Mills and Tyler Bingham, who were indicted for numerous crimes, including murder, conspiracy, drug trafficking, and racketeering and for ordering killings and beatings from their cells.
Tyler Davis Bingham was one of these leaders and faced federal RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations) Act violation charges alongside the other members. The charges included conspiracy to commit murder, putting down the death penalty as a possible outcome for the defendants.
Tyler Davis Bingham (nicknamed T.D., born c. 1947) is a "lieutenant" in the Aryan Brotherhood prison gang, despite his partial Jewish background, even sporting a Star of David tattoo.
The four defendants, including Mr. Mills and Tyler D. Bingham, the second in command of the Aryan Brotherhood, were found guilty of racketeering and conspiracy and of murders dating to 1979.
Prosecutors allege that Bingham and the other three defendants conspired to kill the men, hoping to set off a race war throughout the federal prison system.
