7 Αυγ 2015 · Cyrus/Geckomail is going away, and office365.ucdavis.edu has new log-in pages, one for regular displays and one for mobile devices. • Cyrus/Geckomail — Information and Educational Technology has given users until Sept. 1 to choose a replacement or be moved automatically to Office 365, which most other staff members are already using.
7 Ιουλ 2014 · About 7,000 people, including more than 3,700 staff and 2,200 faculty, currently use Cyrus/Geckomail. Starting in August, new UC Davis email users will no longer receive a Cyrus mailbox.
31 Ιουλ 2015 · The approximately 1,200 staff employees who still use Cyrus/Geckomail as their campus email service need to choose a replacement by Sept. 1. Any staff who haven't will be moved to Office 365 email, which most UC Davis staff already use.

It also served students until fall 2008, when Information and Educational Technology moved almost all undergraduate and graduate student email accounts to DavisMail, powered by Google's Gmail.
22 Αυγ 2008 · The campus has approved the switch from the homegrown Geckomail service to give students access to an email system with vastly expanded data storage space, more features, and access to popular communication tools in Google Apps for Education. Students will continue to use their existing ucdavis.edu email addresses.

Faculty and staff email accounts are not moving to DavisMail, although the campus will discuss that possibility later.
