This newer version is known as the “late Blue Racer.” Many people consider the late model Blue Racers, especially the Deluxe version, to be the best-looking Vibroplexes ever made. The Blue Racer model was discontinued around 1967.
I recently purchased (yup hard to believe it - forty years) a Blue Racer Deluxe direct from Vibroplex. It was shipped promptly and beautifully finished except for the finger pieces. As a few have noted here and elsewhere, the edges are crudely finished and the material looks cheap.

The current Vibroplex Y2K Blue Racer is a superb key. Even with modern manufacturing, the spring is the thing. Choose yours well. If you don't know, try a bunch.
