1 Μαΐ 2001 · I've had my beetle now for four months just thought i'd let you know the minor problems i've had with it so you can watch for them. the first is that the hose clamp from the powersteering resevoir was leaking, easy fix. the second, and i'm assuming will be, if it isn't already, a common one is that the power window stopped working, at first i thought that it had simply come off the track.
this is interesting, I thought I was the only one who experienced having problems with transmissions. I almost throw my Vox to junk, good thing my dad (a mechanic) went home on time and told my to buy the corresponding Volkswagen Beetle parts and a new battery. After spending almost $1000 on overall tuneup of my dad.
My beetle is a 2.0ltr petrol and the engine light cameon so i booked it in the garage and the computer found that the lamard sensor was faulty,I left the car and the job was done then the garae phoned me to collect the car, when i collected the car the car would not rev little smoke was coming out the car is just a mess now hard to drive as when you press the accelarator pedal the car will not ...
A bit of a question-I know that the VW Beetle was born in the late 1930's as a project assigned to Dr. porsche by Adolf Hitler.
That EXACTLY describes what my 2000 New Beetle was doing. I couldn't get anyone to believe that it was doing that--it never did it with a mechanic driving it so they said it was ME! >I'm a woman, so of course I don't know anything< Finally I said to my mechanic (NOT a VW place--been raped enough there--)'I think it feels like a clogged fuel line.'
I purchased a used, 2005, Volkswagen Beetle Turbo GLS for my wife in July of 2008. At the time of purchase, the vehicle had approximately 24K miles, and to date has 32K miles. The four-year bumper to bumper warranty expired in February of 2009; however, the vehicle is still well below the 50K mile warranty threshold.
The Audi TT will get similar mechanicals since it shares the New Beetle Platform. The Beetle RSI looks hot, I wonder what one of those bad boys will cost, my guess is at least $35k. VW has a convertible New Beetle for the show circuit to guage reaction for possible production but they are reluctant to build it.
I drove the MINI, Beetle Turbo S, and Beetle 1.8T. The 1.8T is comp to the MINI - both have great speed, but handling and ride is better in the Beetle. I thought the MINI was too jumpy on rough roads. Visibility in the MINI is a challenge for tall riders - the roof comes down a little into the viewing. Back seat is better in the MINI.
February 2015 edited February 2015 in Volkswagen the door panel came unattached and while i was checking it out the door bulb holder touched some metal and sparked. now windows, power door lock, mirrors do not work.
I checked the NHTSA site. There are at least 40 others in the past year that have also had the same problem. The problem is the NHTSA site has 3 types of cars the Beetle, New Beetle, and New Beetle Convertiable. And they all have the same transmision and the same problem showing up. When the dealer checked the computer codes for this.
