Treat water. Add 25 drops or ¼ teaspoon of Clorox® Disinfecting Bleach to 1.75 gallons of water (4 drops to 1 quart). Stir thoroughly.
The amount of bleach you should use depends on the size of your water storage container. As a general rule of thumb, you should add 8 drops (or 1/8 teaspoon) per gallon of water if the water is clear. If the water appears cloudy or murky, double the amount of bleach used (16 drops per gallon).

One old ‘saying’ – a way to remember for small quantities: “You must be 21 to drink”. 2 drops bleach per 1 quart water.
