My gun smith and I have come up with a system that works for us: Oil on most of the internal of the BCG, and on the rails of the BCG in the cold months. Grease on the back side of the bolt lugs and on the BCG rails in the hot summer months.

White lithium grease? Motor oil? i’ve heard CLP and generic liquid gun oil evaporates or burns off and something thicker like grease is better for lubricsting an ar15 556 action.

However, it may not be ideal for high-temperature applications or heavy use, and it’s always best to check with the manufacturer or a gunsmith for specific recommendations.

In either case, apply a small amount of lubricant to the inside of the buffer tube, then use a finger to wipe the lubricant around the inside of the buffer tube, ensuring that you go 360 degrees with your finger, so as to not leave any lumps of lubricant or miss any parts.
3 Δεκ 2023 · As I work to put together my gun bag and maintenance case for this rifle, I came across a video on youtube where the gentleman suggested Lucas White Lithium Grease for the charging handle contact areas to reduce the metal on metal grinding noise as you pull the handle.
