Arkansas WIC Approved Foods. Below is the list of Arkansas WIC eligible foods based off of federal requirements. This state must use these requirements when creating the Arkansas WIC food list. The following foods must comply with the FDA standards of identity: Infant formula. Exempt infant formula.
Every store may not carry all WIC approved foods/brands. Choices for whole grains are: Brown Rice, Oats, Pasta, Whole Wheat or Corn Tortillas, Whole Wheat or Whole Grain Breads.
The purpose of the Arkansas WIC Program (Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, I nfants and C hildren) is to improve the nutrition of eligible pregnant, breastfeeding and postpartum women, infants and young children during periods of critical growth.
