If you want more than that (games from outside your region, homebrew, backups), then you'd probably want a real GameCube (and the necessary extras).

To play GameCube games on your Switch all you have to do is insert the GameCube disc and then connect a GameCube controller using the GameCube ports on top of the Wii console.
The original Wii can play GameCube games. You just need enough GameCube controllers - one per player. There are even ports at the top of the box for the controllers and memory cards to fit.
