Willie Horton (born William Wattison Horton; October 18, 1942), nicknamed "Willie the Wonder", is an American former baseball left fielder and designated hitter who played in Major League Baseball from 1963 to 1980, primarily for the Detroit Tigers.

Willie Horton was born in Arno, Virginia, in 1942, moving to Detroit when he was five years old. When he was 16 years old, a sophomore catcher for Northwestern High School lineup, he slammed the first of many home runs to come at Briggs Stadium.
Willie Horton's #23 is one of six numbers retired by the Detroit Tigers. He is the only non-Hall of Famer among the six honored with statues at Comerica Park. When Michigan signed into law House Bill No. 5200 in 2004, declaring October 18 Willie Horton Day, Horton became only the fourth Michigander (Rosa Parks was the third) to be given that honor.
