Meadow Lake Wind Farm is an 801.25 megawatt (MW) wind farm near Brookston and Chalmers, Indiana, spreading over portions of White, Jasper, and Benton Counties.
17 Απρ 2023 · Fowler Ridge I, II and III wind farms span over 42,000 acres with 355 wind turbines and a capacity of 600MW, enough power to support 122,000 homes in Indiana. The Fowler Ridge IV wind farm generates 150MW with 65 turbines and can power 46,000 homes a year.
Meadow Lake Wind Farm consists of six phases and is located in northwestern Indiana in Benton and White counties, northwest of Indianapolis. The site is advantageous as a location for modern wind power electrical generation as the area has a strong, proven wind resource.
Fowler Ridge was the second utility-scale wind power plant in Indiana, after the 130.5 MW Goodland I Wind Farm (also in Benton County and was also developed by Orion Energy, LLC (Oakland, CA) and Vision Energy, LLC (Cincinnati, OH)).

Wind power in Indiana was limited to a few small water-pumping windmills on farms until 2008 with construction of Indiana's first utility-scale wind power facility, Goodland (phase I) with a nameplate capacity of 130 MW. As of March of 2024, Indiana had a total of 2,743 MW of wind power capacity installed, ranking it 12th among U.S. states. [1]
