I have looked around the web and there is conflicting advice an how women should dress (no shoulders, no knees etc. showing to 'anything goes') and what there is to do.

19 years ago. Hi I"m a Canadian woman considering a position in Qatar. I have worked in ENgland previously, but the middle east is scaring some of my friends. I would advise you to join Facebook groups for example Qatar Expat Women which they do regular gatherings so you can network and develop friendships with other women. Go out and socialise every weekend even if it’s only once a week, it’ll make all the difference and you’ll enjoy living in Qatar.
