15 Μαρ 2021 · I recently installed Office 365 on my new Laptop and having issues when opening and saving documents in most apps particularly Word and PowerPoint. Whenever I try and open an existing Word document it gets stuck at 'Processing..' and either opens 3- 5 minutes later or crashes completely, most often crashes. Similar happens with PowerPoint.

Other file types (not Microsoft) can be opened directly from the shared folders. Whenever I try and open existing documents, they get stuck at 'Processing..'

Because its default file format is .rtf (rich text format) there are limits as to what can be done with it but many of the features that make up Word, Pages, Writer are not strictly speaking word processing but the function of a desktop publishing program.
Check if you find Word application. If we are able to open Office word, let’s create desktop shortcut. Click on Start> All programs> Microsoft Office> Right click on Word Click on Send To, in the drop down and click on Desktop (create shortcut). We will see a shortcut on desktop.
