Step 1: Install XQuartz. Using a web browser, go to the XQuartz website and click the XQuartz DMG icon to download it. Once the download has finished, open your Downloads folder in the Finder. You can open this folder by selecting Go ‣ Downloads from the menu bar in the Finder. Double-click the XQuartz.dmg file to open it. A new window will appear.
5 Φεβ 2019 · Whilst Inkscape is available for the Mac, there is no maintainer to release native builds. For most releases, therefore, the Mac offering is a straight port of the Linux version, and uses XQuartz as its X Server. Unfortunately XQuartz has more than a few “issues” – not least of which is a significant problem with multi-screen setups.
25 Ιαν 2020 · You don't need xquartz for Inkscape 1.0, please uninstall xquartz and any previous Inkscape version first. Then download the 1.0 release linked by Windell above.
3 Σεπ 2019 · Currently, XQuartz is needed to run inkscape on the Mac. There may be a native Mac client whenever inkscape v1.0 is released. Another thing to keep in mind is that you will need to have Apple's command-line tools for Xcode (compiler) installed, or Xcode itself in order that the package manager can actually build inkscape for you.
Inkscape is an Open Source vector graphics editor, with capabilities similar to Illustrator, Freehand, CorelDraw, or Xara X using the W3C standard Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) file format.
This .dmg file (64bit) is for Mac OS X 10.7 Lion and later and requires XQuartz. Preparation and running Inkscape. Download and install XQuartz from xquartz.macosforge.org. Specific instructions on installing XQuartz and support are found at the XQuartz web site. Note: Inkscape runs on XQuartz.
