Calculator to find out the z-score of a normal distribution, convert between z-score and probability, and find the probability between 2 z-scores.
The basic formula for a sample is: z = (x – μ) / σ. For example, let’s say you have a test score of 190. The test has a mean (μ) of 150 and a standard deviation (σ) of 25. Assuming a normal distribution, your score would be: z = (x – μ) / σ. = (190 – 150) / 25 = 1.6. This tells you how many standard deviations from the mean your score is.
6 Οκτ 2023 · A z-score is a statistical measure that describes the position of a raw score in terms of its distance from the mean, measured in standard deviation units. A positive z-score indicates that the value lies above the mean, while a negative z-score indicates that the value lies below the mean.
Compare observations between dissimilar variables. Identify outliers. Calculate probabilities and percentiles using the standard normal distribution. In this post, I cover all these uses for z-scores along with using z-tables, z-score calculators, and I show you how to do it all in Excel.
The z-score tells you how many standard deviations a data point is above or below the mean. A positive z-score means the data point is greater than the mean, while a negative z-score means that it is less than the mean. A z-score of 1 means that the data point is exactly 1 standard deviation above the mean.
Use this Z-Score Calculator to calculate the standard normal score (z-score) based on the raw score value, the population mean, and the standard deviation of the population
