8 Μαρ 2024 · Alaska Airlines has a fairly comprehensive policy regarding checked baggage fees and carry-on guidelines that it recently updated to include increased baggage fees. Fortunately, the baggage policy also provides a variety of ways to avoid paying those fees.
If you are the primary cardholder, or an authorized user or additional cardholder on the account and are traveling on Alaska Airlines, you'll receive a free checked bag for you and up to 6 guests on the same reservation, when you pay for your flight with your card.

All bag fees are non-refundable and apply per person, at each check-in location, each way, even if you purchase or get an upgrade that includes free checked bags.

If you booked your flight before Jan. 2, you'd pay $30 for your first checked bag, $40 for a second, and just $100 for every bag after that. At present, Alaska is the only U.S. airline charging $35 for a bag no matter what.
