14 Αυγ 2024 · To use gmapsupp.img maps, simply copy the " gmapsupp.img " file to your Garmin device. Notes: Older Garmin Devices. The Garmin device loads a single map file called " gmapsupp.img ". This file must be in a directory called " Garmin " on the SD-card (so the full path is " Garmin/gmapsupp.img ").

8 Σεπ 2012 · 1) Download a map from somewhere (easier, but less customisable) 2) Create your own. If you want to download a map, there's a list of providers here. There are lots of options - some routeable and some not, customised for different uses, etc. I've heard people recommend the ones here.

9 Φεβ 2019 · Go to https://www.freizeitkarte-osm.de/ and click on the bottom-left square: Maps for Garmin GPS-Receivers. Go to Maps and choose the country you need. If your country is not in the dropdown, choose More Countries. Next look at your prefered language and download the Install image for micro SD card file.
I'd also have to figure out how to get a map onto an SD card. I've also never loaded maps other than what I get from OSM. Do you know whether these maps are suitable for geocaching?
There's one created every couple of weeks. The most recent folder is this one: http://daveh.dev.openstreetmap.org/garmin/Lambertus/30-01-2011/ and in there there are 14 map downloadable maps (the ".img" files) and a "README" file: http://daveh.dev.openstreetmap.org/garmin/Lambertus/30-01-2011/README. which asks "Which file do I use?"
18 Φεβ 2014 · You can get map files that work on Garmin devices (I haven't tried with Edge) from this site. You can select predefined areas (countries, provinces) of the world you want, or create custom selections of just your area.
