4 Answers: It should be possible to generate suitable tiles for MemoryMap EuropeanEdition versions 5 and above using OSM data, but I have not succeeded. This is the version of the software which can be used with UK Ordnance Survey StreetView Tiles.

31 Μαΐ 2018 · When OSM file is imported all data come in one layer and the keys become columns and value becomes the values. Since all columns become keys there will be many unnecessary and un-understandable columns.
OpenStreetMap represents physical features on the ground (e.g., roads or buildings) using tags attached to its basic data structures (its nodes, ways, and relations). Each tag describes a geographic attribute of the feature being shown by that specific node, way or relation.
How can I exactly know how much memory would I need to parse for example hamburg.osm into Postgres with osm2pgrouting? (hamburg.osm is 17 mb zipped and more than 100 mb unzipped). Is that possible to calculate the required memory size at least approximately?
28 Αυγ 2011 · Maperitive can use .OSM files directly to render maps (you can simply drag and drop it into the application). It also supports .osm.bz2 and .osm.pfb formats. But as @mattwigway says, you won't be able to consume the whole Planet file (it's huge!).
Downloading and using OSM data. There are many ways to use OpenStreetMap data. It is possible to download raw data for a certain area, entire countries or regions, or certain features such as roads or buildings. There are also many ways to use use existing sets or of OpenStreetMap data, such as map images, routing software and more.
6 Αυγ 2024 · It is possible to download portions of OpenStreetMap's raw data (in .osm) that can be exported to a wide variety of formats (including SHP, POSTGIS, geojson) for many purposes, including use in professional GIS software.
